If I were shortening my 5" sides to 4" after the inlays, I would call it a "design change", not a mistake:)

Nice video. Thanks for the review. Just wanted to point out that once the board passes the cutterhead and starts touching the outfeed table, you should ONLY push the part on the infeed. Never push on the outfeed side since the slightest downward pressure may flex the board causing the infeed side to go upward, and you get inaccurate results. The outfeed table acts as a reference surface and pushing board against it defeats the purpose.

You probably already know this, but paint the board ends with acrylic paint to prevent cracking (or use a commercial coating) and let them dry in your shop to the desired moisture content.

Skyler, Richard here. I have a quick question I make boxes like you do. I do some charcuterie boards and cutting boards and other small wood projects. I really want to buy a laser and I’m trying to figure out which would be best the F1 or the S2 right now I don’t think I have a need to cut out wood, I am also a scroll saw lover. you have so many lasers. What do you think would be my best choice?

Love your channel and what you create! I think I figured out your 2 jig problem. I made the diamond jig and was thinking about how to improve to the other shapes jig. Then it hit me, how to use the diamond jig for both. All you have to do is put a piece of your shaped stock between the blade and the fence to get the width, lock your fence and take out the stock. Now you can make the other patterns and take them out just like the diamonds. Also you do not have to guess at width.

To anyone new please take caution. Epoxy can be wonderful, but EXTREMELY dangerous. Epoxy contains a chemical called b.a.d.g.e. No epoxy is safe and any marked bpa safe is full of crap and still contains dangerous levels. Make sure to take care and let anything cure longer than what companies say. Badge can become airborne and get everywhere. Clothes , lungs, ext and harden where it lands. Please take caution heavily using any epoxy. Keep safety in check and always wear respirators, and more so when sanding. Stay safe❤
